Where has the time gone? It's really time for college tours. Wow!

An oldie but a goodie!

I ran across this old photo on my laptop the other day. It put a smile on my face so of course I had to put it on a page! I love looking through older photos! How about you?

Stay Tuned! Guess who finally got cable?!

Kind of a silly thing to scrap a page about … but getting cable was a huge deal in our house! And still with cable we watch Criminal Minds or other favorites 900 times a week; one of the things we got cable so we wouldn't do anymore. LOL!

Just for fun, here's another page I made a while back using this same kit … it was a page I scrapped about my son a month prior to getting cable and his frustration over the fact that we DIDN'T have cable! LOL!

Art of Photographs

Did I mention before that I'm taking Amanda Taylor's Art of Photographs Outside the Box class at Scrapaneers? The class finished up this week. It was fabulous. Amanda taught some really fun techniques! I'll share with you all the pages I've made the last couple of weeks that were inspired by this class. (I shared three earlier, but I'll share them with you again since they were all class inspired.)

I Know a Girl She Puts Color in My World

Dream Big

I created this page using a photo displacement map technique I learned in class. So cool!

And here's one more Christmas page (not class inspired - just for fun)! My sister and her husband had an ugly sweater contest on Christmas Eve (I won for the women - yay!). Everyone looked so great in their ugly sweaters I just had to do a couple pages of ugly sweater photos!

Oh, I said I'd share all the pages I created for class. I already posted the next three pages, but I'll share them again so you can see some of the other techniques taught in class. (FYI, there were a couple more techniques that I haven't had a chance to play around with yet. Soon!)

You make me happy | Art of Photographs Outside the Box class at Scrapaneers | Kneeboarding

This layout was inspired by Amanda Taylor's (Taylor Made Design) Art of Photographs Outside the Box class offered at Scrapaneers. If you're not taking it, it's a great class. I recommend it!

A couple of Pixels & Co. layouts (January Dollar Days)

Here are a couple of layouts I created for Pixels and Co. new releases. FYI … it's Dollar Days all month at Pixels & Co. … all of these kits are only a buck this month. LOVE THAT!

(I'll include the credits at the end.)

Here's my May "Random Snapshots" page. FYI, these pages look a bit like Project Life pages, but they're not. They're actually filler-type pages for my annual family album. Once I determine that I've scrapped all the pages I plan to for a particular month I then go through all my photos for the month and look for "gems" - photos that I really like but that didn't make it to a page. Those are my monthly "Random Snaps."

I Heart This | It's still Dollar Days @ Pixels & Co!

Remember … it's Dollar Days at Pixels and Company all month. There's so much awesomeness to choose from. At the end of the month there'll be 52 kits to choose from. Awesome! I made this using Scotty Girl Design's This year 2014 kit (among a couple other things)!

Wondering what to do with all those wonderful Christmas photos & cards you get?

Are you looking for something to do with all those wonderful Christmas photos, cards and letters you get every year? I've got and idea for you! For the last several years I've created a simple book for the cards. I design a cover, adhere it to thin cardboard (I use the cardboard I get back from Costco when I order scrapbook pages), then punch holes in the cover and the cards/photos and bind it all together with jump rings. That's it. Super simple (and kinda cute!), right?

And if you wonder what to do with the Christmas letters you get, I include that in the book too. Those papers are too big and too thin to punch so I fold them up and put them in an envelope, then I punch holes in the bottom of the envelope and include that too.

This is the third year I've done this and I love it. All my cards are together by year and I can easily page through them and look at the photos. It's fun to leave out during the holidays so people can page through it!

It's Dollar Days at Pixels & Co! (New Years Eve family pic)

It's Dollar Days at Pixels & Company for the whole month of January. I've made a bunch of pages in the last few days from some of these kits. I made this page from a Hipster Holiday - New Years from Mommyish.

I've got another painted-type page to share with you…

Also … I had a nice surprise yesterday. I got a Gallery Standout for my Homecoming page that I posted Tuesday. Here's a link. It made my day! Also, here's the page that got the GSO:

A bitterly cold day … time to scrap! (Art of Photographs at Scrapaneers)

It is an absolutely bitterly cold day here in Minnesota. Schools are closed. (And it turns out they're closed tomorrow now too!) It's -18 degrees but feels like -50 degrees. Seems like a good day to stay inside! I hung out with the kids and of course did a little scrapping as well! Here's what I made today when I had time to play! (See below for credits.)

NOTE (after posting) … I got a Gallery Standout on this Homecoming page. I was super excited! You can see the GSO here.

I made this page for an Art of Photographs Outside the Box class I'm taking at Scrapaneers taught by Amanda Taylor. It's going to be a great class! If you want to check out the class, you can find it here.

Here's another page I made for the Art of Photographs Outside the Box class.

2014 Project Life | Week 1

Ahh … it's fun to be starting a project with a blank slate! I had fun putting together my first page of my 2014 Project Life book. I really liked the format I used last year but I wanted to change it up in some way. I decided to go with straight corners instead of rounded corners. Earth shattering, right?! LOL! I also saw people using square spots on their Project Life pages for those Instagram shots, etc. so I decided I'd give include that too. It's little changes, but I like it! FYI, I'm sticking with my bright colors and busy pages.  I thought about simplifying my pages, but I like the busy-ness of my pages!

I included a bunch of Facebook posts on this page. How about you … do you use Facebook posts on your pages?

FYI … I used Scotty Girl Designs' This Year 2014 kit for this weeks' pages. I absolutely love that kit. There are so many goodies to choose from!

Digi Project Life | Week 53 | 2013 is officially documented!

I'm doing a happy dance. 2013 is now officially fully documented (with Project Life - I'm still creating "regular" digi scrapbook pages for 2013). I've scrapped a full year using Project Life and I absolutely love it. This is actually my 4th full year of documenting our life day-to-day. My first three years I did a more graphic "photo a day" book (and loved it). This year I jumped on the Project Life band wagon and I'm definitely not looking back. What fun!

So … without further ado, here are my final pages for 2013.

For fun I'll share my first ever project life page I created exactly one year ago today too!

and … this is the image that will be printed on my album cover (I'm having my book printed at Blurb) as well as be my intro page to the book …

and this is is the image that will be printed on the back cover of the album …

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a great 2014!
