The Art of Baking

My sweet daughter is such a talented baker. We, along with our friends and neighbors, are lucky and are frequently treated with Lauren's delicious baking! Love it!

Created with Gennifer Bursett's Celebrate This kit at Pixels & Co.

Mini Books for Christmas Photos and Cards (can I call it a hybrid project?!)

Are you looking for something quick and fun to do with all the Christmas photos and cards you received this year? If you don't want to store them in an envelope or *gasp* throw them away you could make a quick mini book for them. This is my 4th year of making mini books for my Christmas cards/photos and I love it!

All I had to do was design a simple cover using Gennifer Bursett's Be Joyful mini kit at Pixels & Co. (You could even just use a pretty Christmas card or photo as the cover too). After I printed the cover at Costco I glued it to thin cardboard (just so it's a bit more sturdy), punched holes in the cover and photos/cards and bound it all together with jump rings. I still have a box of ribbon from my paper scrapping days so I added some ribbons too to jazz it up a bit (and to use some ribbons!).

For the Christmas letters, I just folded them up and put them in an envelope and clipped the envelope to the jump rings too. It's a really quick project!

Can I even call this a bit of a hybrid project?

For more ideas, here are the books I made for the previous 3 years:

I'm not short! lol!

Isn’t this sweet? My son's arm is around his sister. Awww! Is it love? Sure. But he’s also doing it because he’s trying to keep her from standing on her tiptoes cuz she was trying not to look short next to him. They make me laugh!

Love. Love. Love.

For some reason I don't get a lot of photos of both of my kids and me. I loved these photos of the kids and me when we were on vacation this summer and of course wanted to scrap it! Love these kids!

Sharing a couple pages ... sweet memories

Last Friday was a girls night. My husband was traveling and my son was working for my daughter an I went out shopping to get new UGG boots, had dinner at Panera and then we came home and she baked to her heart's content. It was a fun evening!

2 more intro pages ... October Pixels & Co. Template Challenge

Two more album intro pages done! I used the same design for each (using the Pixels & Co. October template challenge). Since they're both completely different albums I figured it didn't matter! I think I might just be done with covers now. Yay!

NOTE ... pulling together pictures for these pages I had a chance to look through so many old photos. Oh my gosh, it was so fun! Now, while I've got album covers done, I've now got a ton of old photos and stories I want to scrap! LOL!

Catching up! Intro pages to my son's high school albums!

I'm on a roll ... I'm catching up and making intro pages to my kids' albums! I made a couple pages earlier this week for my daughter's albums and tonight I made intro pages to both of the high school albums for my son. (He's a senior so his most recent album is still ongoing.) Yup ... I'm patting myself on my back. ;) LOL! I'm pretty much of a procrastinator when it comes to making intro pages, and I'll admit it, I'm still behind and have more intro pages to make - but hey, it's a start. I got motivated because I looked through their albums and ordered a couple more We R Memorykeepers 3 ring binder albums to break up the books in logical places (the books were getting WAY too heavy!). I'm making progress!

Anyway ... here are the pages I made for my son's 9th - 10th grade album and 11th - 12th grade album!

NOTE ... the 11th-12th grade album intro was inspirited by a layout by ladyesterat Pixels & Co. You can see her layout here.

DSD (Digital Scrapbooking Day) at Pixels & Co.: Intro Page to my DD's High School Album

It's Digital Scrapbooking Day ... ok, lets call it Digital Scrapbooking week. There's so much going on over at Pixels & Co. - lots of sales, and games and challenges! You name it! You'll definitely want to check it out!

I'm going to have a few pages to share with you. I created this page with a new release collab (on sale!) by Mommyish and Anita Designs. I'm organizing my kids' "kid albums" and part of what I've got left for each of their books (in addition of course to new pages to add to their books) is to create intro pages to each of their albums. This page is the intro page to my daughter's 9th and 10th grade album. Since she's just starting 9th grade ... and because it bugs me that I never make intro pages to the kids' book until the book is complete ... I left a spot to add a photo I'll take at a later date. I'm kinda excited to be getting these album covers completed!

Amazing new releases from Mommyish at Pixels & Co.

I've got a couple of new layouts to share with you. Leah (Mommyish) released some A*M*A*Z*I*N*G new templates and I simply HAD to play with them. They are just so incredibly fun.

This first layout is an intro page to my daughter's 7th - 8th grade album. (I'm getting my kids' albums organized and making intro pages!):

Here's another one. This layout was a bit more complicated, but still super fun and easy to use!

Pixels & Co. Digi Morph - By the Sea

Have you heard of a digi morph? (Each person sees the person before them's page, takes inspiration from some part of the page and designs their own page. Once they get their page scrapped they send it off to the next person on the list and the morph goes on.) Here's the page I made for the most recent digi morph at Pixels & Co. If you want to see just how a digi morph works, check out the linked forum thread. Look down

Success! Oma's surgery

My mom had major surgery on her spine about a month ago and she spent three weeks with me and my family at our house to begin her recovery. She amazes me! I hope I'm that I'm half as strong as her when I'm 77! Way to go Mom!

Digi supplies ... not just for scrapbook pages! (Facebook timeline covers perhaps?)

Gorgeous digi supplies ... they're not just for scrapbook pages. I made a quick new timeline cover for my Facebook page last night and thought I'd share it with you.

And since it's digi ... I made a couple of quick changes and changed it up a bit for my Facebook Design page as wee. FYI, my Facebook design page is Barbara's Digital Designs if you want to come by and "Like" my page.
