First day of school - 2013! (Oops, I forgot!) (A new collection by Mommyish)

My kids first day of school is next week and I completely forgot to make a first day of school page for LAST year. I have really simple 8x8 albums for each of the kids for their first day of school pages. I kept the pages pretty simple throughout so that I'd be sure to keep up. I was a paper scrapper when I started so it's fun seeing the progression/difference in the pages. One year my daughter even wanted to make her own page. I LOVE that and think it might be my favorite page!

A College Tour at Michigan Tech

My son is a senior this year so this summer we went on a number of college tours. It's an interesting process. I had fun this morning creating this page for one of the college tours he went on.

Project Life | Week 34 + The Great Minnesota Get Together

Hi all! I've got 4 pages to share with you this week. On Saturday we went to the Minnesota State Fair (the Great Minnesota Get Together) with family. It was a great time! When I've got an event when the family gets together I like to make some extra pages. So ... here are my pages for the week!

Minnesota State Fair | A crazy ride! (The Stinger!)

We went to the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday and my son and niece were the only ones in our group crazy enough to ride this ride. Of course I had to scrap a page! I even got it all on video and included a QR code for good measure!

FYI, when I was getting the link for the kit to include in this blog post I noticed that it's on sale at Snap Click Supply Co. (formerly Jessica Sprague) for only $1.99! I don't know how long it's for sale, but if you like it, it's on sale now!

Love This Place | Cedar Point Resort, Marcell, MN

As summer comes to a close I thought I'd scrap a page of scenes from Cedar Point Resort - a resort owned by my sister and her husband. Cedar Point is a place where we've made lots of awesome summer memories over many years. (My parents owned the resort before my sister so it's been a LONG time! We're very lucky!)

Totally Random Comment: "I Still Like You Guys"

... a great totally random and deadpan comment from my son at dinner the other day when we'd just gotten back from vacation  ... "You know, even though we've spent pretty much every minute together this past week, I still like you guys."

I of course had to get it on a page! LOL!

Scrapaneers Peer Interview - EEEK, that's me!

This is really weird for me, but if anyone wants to check it out, I've got an interview on the Scrapaneers blog today. Every month one of the Scrapaneers Peers is interviewed. I've been a Peer since the very beginning and this is my month. Yikes! To be honest it freaked me out just a bit so I put my interview off for a whole year. Silly, right?! What am I - a self-conscious teenager? Get over it, right! LOL! It's super easy for me to share my scrapbook pages, but not so easy to talk about myself. If you want read a little bit about me and see some of my favorite scrapbook pages, click HERE.

Also … Scrapaneers truly is an awesome site. If you haven't had a chance to visit (or if you haven't been there lately), Scrapaneers offers really top-notch workshops on a whole host of dig topics. There's sure to be something that interests you. Click here to read a description of their workshops.

Until next time … happy scrapping!

Digi Project Life | Week 33 (Mye De Leon is guesting at MScraps)

My friend Mye De Leon is guesting at MScraps. This woman is crazy talented! Seriously!

I used Mye's What We Learn kit and What We Learn Journal Cards, available at MScraps, to scrap this week's Project Life pages as well as Mye's Childhood Alpha for my title card.

Family Chronicles

As I sat outside on the patio this morning reading the paper it gave me an idea for a scrapbook page ...

(NOTE ... I wouldn't have posted this if there was actually anything real personal with the doctor visits ... if so my daughter would have been so annoyed with me - and I just wouldn't do that!)

U 2 R Awesome | School is Cool kit by Sweet Caroline Studio

It's been a beautiful day. We got lots done and I still had some time tonight to scrap another quick page using Sweet Caroline Studio's new School is Cool kit. Now it's time to watch a Robin Williams movie. We're thinking Good Will Hunting.

Have a great night!

Home Office + a digi scrapping tip

It's a beautiful Saturday morning! I got up bright and early, grabbed a cup of coffee and sat outside on the patio and scrapped this page. What a great way to start the day!

On a scrappy note ... Celeste Knight recently released this awesome, doodled school kit. It's just so fun! I thought it would be perfect for this photo I wanted to scrap about my daughter's "home office"!

Scrappy tip ... have you checked out Karla Dudley's Washi Tape End Brushes? I use them on literally every single page I make that has tape on it. I love how realistic the end tears look. It even makes it super easy to make tape out of any paper you have in your stash. Just mask your paper to a rectangular shape, erase the ends with these end brushes, lower the transparency and voila, you're done!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Digi Project Life | Week 32 (Scotty Girl Design's Color My World Collection)

It was a quiet night so I put together my Project Life pages for this past week. I really liked how fun Scotty Girl Design's Color My World kit was when I used it to create the  car wash page I posted earlier today so I decided to use the entire Color My World Collection again for Project Life.

My favorite quote from the week: We got back from vacation bright and early Sunday morning. Sunday night my husband, son and I were having dinner (my daughter was at volleyball practice) and he casually told us: "You know, even though we spent pretty much every minute together this past week, I still like you guys." That's quite a compliment, don't you think?! LOL!

NOTE, I also used Mommyish's Essential Styles to make the brads. I find I use those styles all the time now!

Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Volleyball Car Wash)

I had some quiet time home alone when I got home this afternoon so of course I had to use it to scrap. I certainly didn't feel like cleaning the house. That just wouldn't fit the title of this page ... "Girls Just Want To Have Fun!" LOL!

Digi Project Life | Week 31 - Our Vacation to Boston/Cape Cod (8 daily layouts!)

I've completed the first step of documenting our family vacation to Boston/Cape Cod earlier this month. ... I've completed my Project Life pages. Happy dance! If you follow my blog, you know that for "regular" weeks, I create weekly Project Life spreads. I document vacation weeks differently. I create single or double page layouts for each day of the trip. Since this was an 8 day trip I created simple 2-page layouts outlining each day of the trip. I kept each layout pretty simple - focusing just on the photos and the story. The pages went together quickly because I used just one comprehensive kit and an amazing style from Pixels & Company: Scotty Girl Design's This Year 2014 Vacation Collection & Mommyish's Essential Styles (to create the wire words).

The next step for my vacation photos will either be creating the vacation album or creating random pages of memories for our family album. It will just depend on how the mood strikes! Stay tuned!

Digital Project Life | Week 30

Mye De Leon's done it again. She's released another awesome I Collect Memories collection - this one is called Piazza. I love the fun colors and the selection of rubber bits, wood and fun elements and used it to create this week's pages.
