Our Christmas Gift Opening 2011

I'm FINALLY getting around to scrapping Christmas. Why is it Christmas is my favorite holiday but I don't enjoy scrapping Christmas pages? Maybe it's because I always have so many photos that I want to scrap from the holiday. Here's at least a start though!  :)

MEA Weekend 2011

I had a TON of photos that I loved from our May family getaway over MEA weekend. I simply couldn't trim down that many photos so what the heck ... I've got a four page spread from the weekend.
We've got lots of fun memories from our weekend getaway!
I love multi-photo layouts!

Topsy Turvy Tomatoes!

Jenni Bowlin (at JessicaSprague.com) is coming out with a new kit on March 5th and I got a chance to play with it tonight. I thought the greens and blues were great for photos of Lauren's first try at gardening!

Sidewalk Chalk

It's been a crazy busy week but I woke up early this morning and the house was quiet so I sat down on the couch in front of the fire and scrapped for a bit. What a nice start to what I expect will be a great day.
I got to play this morning with a new kit from In the Making Designs (at Jessica Sprague.com) that is going to come out on the February 27th. The colors and patterns were so fun, I thought they'd be perfect for these photos I took of Lauren last summer!
Happy Saturday!

An Awesome Great Grandma!

I got to play a bit tonight with Pink Paislee's Framed Postage Stamp Elements Pack that are coming out at Jessica Sprague on February 20th. The frames are so fun!

Long Lake Field Trip!

I had lots of fun making this page this morning. I decided I wanted a playful feel for this page so I used a bunch of digi stuff from Splendid Fiins at Jessica Sprague. It was fun playing with her stuff! {She's from around here - small world, huh?!} Then, I had to scan a bunch of the pictures taken on the disposable camera. I'd been putting that off WAY too long (OK, I'd put it off for an entire year!) so I'm glad I finally got that done! I made this page this morning while everyone was still sleeping and Lauren was happy with it when I showed her when she got up this morning so that makes me happy!

Our New Driver!

This was a fun page to put together. I can't believe my baby (shhhh, don't tell Grant I called him my baby! Ha!) is driving. He's doing well though. {At least that's what I hear. He's still just driving with Dad. I'm hoping to go with again soon!}

FYI, you can find the vast majority of the stuff on this page at Jessica Sprague.com. You can find the credits here.

Chicago! - Pages for DS's book

Can I tell you how much I love digi? I just spent about 20 minutes and found and edited a few photos that were Grant and Max focused, rewrote the journaling to direct it right to Grant and voila ... I have the same pages for Grant's book. Love it!

Chicago!

In The Making Designs at Jessica Sprague is coming out with a HUGE brand new template pack on February 20th. TWENTY templates - love it! They're absolutely gorgeous. I had a chance to play around with some of them tonight and here's what I made from our trip to Chicago this past summer.
I also used Liv.E Designs Click! kit. I love kits with cameras and photography elements. They're so fun!

Here's the two page spread:

Braces! ... the timeline

I created another page using the awesome Flirty paper pack from In the Making Designs. Check it out over at Jessica Sprague.com.

Redo - Random Snapshots from Memorial Weekend 2011

OK, it's not a huge change or anything, but I changed this page just a bit. I wanted the photos to look a little more like they were casually thrown on the page so I twisted a turned a few of them. It's nice to be able to change up pages so easily! Isn't digi great?!

Random Snapshots from Memorial Weekend 2011

I already scrapped a page of photos from Memorial weekend (it was a page of photos of Grant and Holly kayaking - I loved those pictures!). I had these extra photos that I still wanted to remember, so here they are all together in one place:

Can you tell I like pages with lots of photos? I have a hard time cutting out pictures, so my philosophy is ... put 'em all on!

Random Snapshots - March 2011

Random Snapshots - February 2011

Random Snapshots - January 2011 {the plan}

As I've been scrapping my pages to fill out my 2010 albums (family and kid albums) I've been seeing so many photos that speak to me but that haven't made it to a scrapbook page of their own. These photos could quite possibly be in my P365 photo-a-day album but they don't appear in my family scrapbook. These photos speak to me for some reason (whether I just really like the photo or they tell a little story or they make me smile, whatever) and I want them to be in my family album. That's why I took the photos, right?

In all my blog hopping and gallery gazing I've gotten so much photo and scrapping inspiration. Jana Morton (I absolutely LOVE her scrapping style!) is doing a layout similar to this for her P365 book this year. I love the look. I decided something like that would be great for my random snapshots. I don't want to spend hours "scrapping" these pages. I want to kind of just put 'em together.

Here's my thought process: I love how photos "pop" on black so that's what I'm doing for the background (I'm using black & grey for my photo-a-day layouts this year too). I chose a paper from Becky Higgins that I'm going to re-color every month to coordinate with a color in one of the photos. I'll choose a contrasting color for the strip and some of the word art and call it good. Easy, right?!

I feel really good that I'm going to be able to include all these random moments/snapshots in my scrapbook! What fun! I've got January through March done already. I'm going to just put these pages together as I determine what pages I still want to scrap for that month. By the time I finish my 2011 album, I'll have these pages put together too. Enjoy!

 {Oh, and I want to credit Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals for the FineLinesBorders word art I'm using on the bottom, they're so fun! and Katie Pertiet "Spot Dots" for the black paper and Karla Dudley "Sunkissed" for the grey paper. }

I adore these kids!

I used In the Making Design's Flirty Paper kit. I love it. The colors and patterns are so great!
