Connections Around the Globe

With windchills at -51 degrees standing outside and waiting for a bus to go to work was not a safe idea. Guess what it is a good day for? Sitting by the fire and scrapping!

2018 Family Vacation Album (Europe: France, Belgium & The Netherlands)

We moved Lauren off to college last week and I've been trying to be productive and busy. I've been organizing the house and I've also been busy creating and designing an album for our trip to Europe this summer (we got back 3 weeks ago). The next step is sending it off to print at Blurb Books.

Guess what ... even though I've been busy I still find time to miss Lauren! She's doing great and is keeping in contact with us so it's all good! I'm super happy for her at college!

NOTES:

I'm still thinking about how I want to design the front and back cover, but I've got the "guts" of the book done, proofed (hopefully; I always manage to miss something) and ready to share!

I keep my vacation albums pretty simple. Photos, words and a white background. Something, in my mind, like a coffee table book. It helps me keep the focus on the pictures, words and memories. I save all my digital embellishing for my annual family albums. TFL!

2018 Project Life | Weeks 29 & 30 | European Vacation

My first step in documenting our vacation is to create a daily Project Life set of recap pages. These pages are meant to be a super high level general recap of the trip. I love making these recap pages because some of the details of our trip are now documented and it motivates to start creating a vacation album.

My next step is to decide on a design for my vacation album and then I can start documenting the trip in more detail! I'm currently on an extended summer sabattacal for another 4 weeks. My hope is to have the vacation album completed before I go back to work. Fingers crossed I get it done!

This 12 day trip was a part of my daughter's 6 weeks in Europe (a graduation present from herself to herself). I promised her that I would make her an album documenting her trip. I definitely need to put thought into how I'm going to tackle that project because she's got a lot of pictures and more importantly I was not with her for the majority of her trip so I don't know the stories she'd like to tell. I guess she and I will need to collaborate on the creation of that album. Yay ... time with my girl creating an album. I'll enjoy that!
