My heart belongs to you (Mye De Leon's Butterfly Kisses collection)

Mye De Leon's got such a pretty kit releasing at Snap Click Supply Co. today. I was immediately drawn to the striped ombre paper I used as a background. Isn't it pretty?!

Whale Watching ... playing in Photoshop

I took about a zillion photos during our whale watching excursion this summer. Since I had a hard time paring things down and cutting out photos, I've got a super busy page to share ...

I love PS and blending and masking photos!

Carpe the heck out of this diem ... (Just Jaimee's Storyteller 2015 Hunter Collection)

Yup. An actual layout about me. Weird, right?!

I made this page using Just Jaimee's Storyteller 2015 Hunter Collection for a January challenge at The Lilypad for Storyteller subscribers. The challenge was simply to create a layout with a white or gray base paper and that base paper had to take up 80% of the background. That's about it for the challenge. As you've possibly noticed, often I use lots of colors and patterns for my backgrounds so this was a change for me. I've got to say though, it was fun! Just Jaimee's collections with all the paints and other awesomeness made this page come together pretty quicky. :)

I'm going to add ... thanks to my daughter to wandering the beach with me and snapping photos. She and I were both snapping photos like crazy. It was great!

Love. Love. Love.

For some reason I don't get a lot of photos of both of my kids and me. I loved these photos of the kids and me when we were on vacation this summer and of course wanted to scrap it! Love these kids!

Pixels & Co. Digi Morph - By the Sea

Have you heard of a digi morph? (Each person sees the person before them's page, takes inspiration from some part of the page and designs their own page. Once they get their page scrapped they send it off to the next person on the list and the morph goes on.) Here's the page I made for the most recent digi morph at Pixels & Co. If you want to see just how a digi morph works, check out the linked forum thread. Look down

Love Life - The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

I feel like I haven't scrapped in a while. OK. I'll be honest. I did scrap my Project Life pages this week and I absolutely LOVE that, but last night I was in the mood (and was finally not so tired that I'd go to bed early) to scrap a page for my family album. Ahhh ... I loved it!

NOTE ... My sweet girl finds joy in the littlest things. It’s one of the five hundred million things I love about her.

I've just finished my East Coast Vacation Album!

I don't know what happened but somehow I completely forgot to make a book for our family trip this summer! OK, we've been back for less than 3 months but for me this is really late! I've finished my book now and I want to share it with you.

FYI, once I decide on a style for a vacation album I typically create them pretty quickly. I decided for this book that I wanted a coffee-table style book with clean and simple straight lines. I'm pretty excited about it! You won't find a single shadow or blending in this entire book. That's unusual for me! It's just about the photos and words.

I used a white background paper with a light grid pattern and I used three fonts throughout. FYI, I used Stringfellows (my new favorite font) for the titles, Minion Pro for the journaling and Homestead for the subtitles. Tonight I'll import my pages into Lightroom, assemble the book in the LR Book Module, upload the project to Blurb and send it off to print! And then, since I'll already have it assembled in the Book Module I'll also make a PDF book as well. I'll share photos of the printed book once I get it back from Blurb!

FYI, the photos might look a little funny in the post. They've got a white background and my blog background is white. For the majority of the pages (except the full photo pages), there's a 1 inch border around the edges.

TFL!

Barbara

NOTE ... if you want to see this book on my FB Page, here's a link.

Totally Random Comment: "I Still Like You Guys"

... a great totally random and deadpan comment from my son at dinner the other day when we'd just gotten back from vacation  ... "You know, even though we've spent pretty much every minute together this past week, I still like you guys."

I of course had to get it on a page! LOL!
