February Random Snapshots

Today I'm going to share with you my February Random snapshots pages. I'm really pretty caught up on my scrapping this year so I'm doing these pages much earlier than I usually do. (I usually make these monthly recap pages at the end of the year.) I think what happened is that I get a lot of scrapping done when my husband travels. This year was unusual for him and he was gone most of the month of April, so ... I stayed up late a lot (I was pretty sleep deprived) and I scrapped. I was productive! You know ... being caught up is a good thing ... but it's always kind of sad! I have to work harder to find photos to scrap ... but then again I sometimes scrap old photos so that's been fun!

This is now my second set of pages using Creashen's plastic pocket templates. I'm really enjoying the pocket look for these pages!

A Random iPhone Snapshot

I snapped this photo of my daughter and me as we were walking to the bus stop this week - the last week of 7th grade. You know, I pretty much never went to the bus stop with her in the mornings this year but I guess I was feeling like my baby is growing up so fast. I asked if I could walk with her the last week and she "sure" so I did. It was fun!

2013 Project Life Week 23 (An awesome new kit by One Little Bird)

I love quiet Sunday mornings. I like to wake up early, grab a cup of coffee, sit down in my favorite chair, put my feet up and put together my weekly Project Life pages. It's such a great start to the day!

We had a good week. My kids are done with school now so we're officially on summer vacation. I think I'm just as happy to have them on summer vacation as they are! It's time to RELAX. Awesome!

On a scrappy note ... this week One Little Bird at One Little Bird released a new kit called "Click." I'm really a sucker for any kit that contains cameras and photography word art. Seriously ... I don't think I ever pass up a kit with cameras! I just love 'em! I don't have a ton of kits from One Little Bird, but the ones I do have are some of my favorites!

Real Life | Scrapping with Splendid Fiins' Designs

I just scrapped a page the other day using Splendid Fiins' designs (fyi, she's at the Lillypad) and it seems like whenever I use her stuff I feel compelled to make more pages using her designs. Maybe it's because it's just such fun stuff! Well it happened again. I created a page (and posted it a day or so ago) of a bunch of selfies of my daughter and me and then yesterday I had to make another page using her designs. This page is photos from just a regular day. Nothing big happened that day ... just real life. That's what I want to remember anyway - the normal everyday stuff of life!

I'm going to post both pages ... just ... because!

As soon as I post this I'm going to put together my Project Life pages from this past week. I love quiet Sunday mornings!

2 Digi Layouts (Pixels & Co. and Splendid Fiins)

I've got two more pages to share with you today. My first page is a compilation of photos I took of my daughter and me throughout the school year - most selfies taken with my iPhone. Like I said, it's a just for fun kinda page! I used Splendid Fiins' kits for this page - a super playful theme seemed like the way to go. I love this collection of photos!

My second page is one more confirmation page. I took so many photos at my son's confirmation ... I just had to scrap one more page! I kept with the same color scheme as my previous 4 pages so that they'd coordinate. I think I've finally got all the photos that I wanted to scrap from this done included on a page. Yay!

My son's Confirmation - New product from the Ardent Sparrow

Ardent Sparrow is releasing two great new templates today (Big Photo Templates). I decided to use both of them to scrap photos from my son’s confirmation a couple of weeks ago. Actually, I made 4 pages using them! I love when I can easily change up templates to use them in different ways on multiple pages!

If you’ve seen my scrapbook layouts, you’ve probably noticed that I like to use lots of photos from events. It’s certainly not because I don’t weed out my photos, because I certainly do! I'd hate to even admit how many photos I take. I like multi-photo pages because I want to make sure I include EVERYONE on my pages. Well, these Big Photo templates were designed for single photo pages, but they were super easy to play around with to create a great backdrop for my multi-photo pages!

Here's the individual page views - along with the designer credits:

January 2013 Recap - "Pocket" pages

I've always been intrigued by Creashen's Pocketful Templates. I thought the look of photos and notes, etc. peeking out from inside plastic pockets would be so fun. I hadn't tried these templates before tonight and I've gotta say, they were fun to work with. If you're wondering how to do it, don't worry! Creashens included super clear instructions on masking and how to get the effect.

FYI, in my family album I always include a page or two (sometimes even four) of random snapshots from the month that don't make it to their own scrapbook page. These are my January 2013 pages. Right now I'm thinking I might keep using these pocketful templates for my 2013 monthly recap pages. I bet the more I use them the better I'll get at coming up with fun things to peek out. If you want to try them out, I've included a link to the templates in the credits below my pages in this post.

Digi Project Life | Week 22

I sure do enjoy documenting my family's week-by-week life through Project Life. I look forward to sitting down on Sunday mornings and getting a start on (and oftentimes finishing in the morning) my weekly pages.

It's time for the June Design Challenge at Pixels & Company!

It's time for another month of fun challenges at Pixels and Co. This month I created a page as a sample for the Management Level Design challenge. The challenges are really fun, so hop (click!) on over to P&Co to check them out. You can win great prizes ... plus you can earn a chance to be on the guest creative team for a month!

Here are the details of the Design Challenge:

1. For the ENTRY LEVEL DESIGN challenge, keep the design in the upper half of the layout.
2. For the MANAGEMENT LEVEL DESIGN challenge, use brushes or paint as a foundation and keep the design in the upper half of the layout. {I created my layout as a sample for the MANAGEMENT LEVEL DESIGN CHALLENGE}.
3. For the EXECUTIVE LEVEL DESIGN challenge, create at least one visual triangle using copies of the same element. Plus, use brushes or paint as a foundation and keep the design in the upper half of the layout.

Sounds fun doesn't it? Remember, there's also a PHOTO challenge and a WORD challenge you can participate in as well!

Here's the sample page I created for the MANAGEMENT LEVEL DESIGN challenge. I pulled out some photos of my kids as babies. It was fun for me because now they're 13 and 16 ... certainly not babies anymore!

A silly, random page ...

I really just HAD to scrap this photo. It was a silly, random, everyday moment when my daughter was embarrassed by something I was doing. If you're a mom to a teenager I'm sure you've experienced a time when your child is embarrassed by you. Well, I have an iPhone photo of one of these moments so of course I had to document it!

I think this is a page that my daughter will think is funny (especially when she's older) and I think that when, someday WAY down the road, her kids are looking at these scrapbooks they'll think it's funny to see their mom like this. (I know, she's only 13, but I'm looking ahead! LOL!)
