Mediterranean Cruise | Formal Night At Sea & You Make Me Happy (New Release Friday at Pixels & Co.)

It's new release Friday at Pixels & Co. and I want to share a couple of pages I created this week using new designs being released today. The first page uses a new release from Shannon McNab/Scotty Girl Design (her Frame It Up Templates). (I also used Mye De Leon's The Good Stuff This Year.) The second pages uses a kit called Cheerful by Ya Yeah Designs.

FYI, I'm still thinking about how exactly I want to scrap my cruise vacation, so while I'm deciding ... I may as well make random pages from the trip for my family album, right?!

Here's my second page - using Ya Yea Designs' Cheerful kit. I had this photo of my daughter looking so very happy ... I simply had to scrap it! I love how cheerful and happy she can be and how the littlest things can make her happy sometimes! (To be honest though, she is a teenager so sometimes the littlest things can make her mad too. Definitely more often happy though ... so that's an awesome thing. Love you Sweetie!)

Sneak Peek | Mediterranean Cruise Vacation Album

I'm super excited. I've decided on a general design now and I've started my vacation album! Whoo hoo!  I always love when I get on a roll creating a themed album (particularly a vacation album!). They're a really big project ... sorting through pictures, editing pictures, writing journaling, designing pages, proofing and reproofing the journaling (and finding little typos - ugg!). If you're a scrapper you know the drill! I love it!

Anyway ... my thought is that I'm going to try to design a two page spread every night (as regular life permits). We visited lots and lots of beautiful places on our trip so it's going to take me some time to get the entire album done - but it'll be a fun process!

So ... I just thought I'd share a sneak peak of the pages I've put together so far. They're completely random days/events of our trip. I had no rhyme or reason as to why I chose what events I put together. It was just by whim. I haven't decided if I'll share the rest of the pages as they go together or just share the entire book once it's finished. I guess it'll just depend how impatient I am! (Note ... try as I might, patience is not one of my strong suits!) Tee hee!

And if you want to see closer up images:

Well, I'm off to bed. Try as I might I still need sleep - although I'd rather sit here and work on my album!

(FYI, when I post the final book I'll post a list of credits. So far I'm using Splendid Fiins Very Krafty Papers for the background as a base to my pages, various different frame sets from Katie Pertiet and photo masks from varying designers.

Digi Project Life | Week 43 | Mother/Daughter Mediterranean Cruise

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be able to go on a Mediterranean cruise with my mom and my two sisters. It was an absolutely amazing trip. We visited a number of cities in Italy (our ports were Venice, Naples, Sicily and Rome). We also had a port in Slovenia and two ports in Croatia. As the digi scrapper in the family I'm in charge of creating our album for this trip - definitely a task that I'm looking forward to! (One of my sisters paper scraps but I'm in charge of the digi album since I can print several books when I'm done with it.)

The first thing I wanted to do to commemorate our trip was create pages for my family's Project Life album. As I did for our summer family vacation, I created a page for every day of our trip. Putting the Project Life pages together first works great for me. It gives me an opportunity to look through the photos and edit some of my favorites - all the while thinking about what I want to do for the full vacation album. You'd think I'd have an idea how I want to put together the vacation book, but I'm still pretty clueless. I know it'll come together though once I sit down and work on it. My plan is to start working on it later this weekend or by Monday at the latest! (We're all impatient to get the book in hand!)

So, for now I want to share my vacation Project Life pages with you:

And lastly, here are closeup versions if you want to see any of the sites in more detail. OMG ... could everything possibly have been more beautiful there?!

Materials used (all from Pixels & Co.):
For all pages I used:
Kraft Letterpress So Daily (days of the week) Journal Cards by Robyn Meierotto;
Noted Journalers by Celeste Knight
Mod Pop Labels by Robyn Meierotto
F-Stop papers (paper) by Shannon McNab/Scotty Girl Design

For two of the pages I also used:

Keeping Tabs File Frames (frame) by Robyn Meierotto
Pink Snow (jewels) by Simply Tiffany Studios

A visit to Hitler's Eagle's Nest in the Berchtesgaden Alps, Germany

I finished my vacation album from this summer's Germany vacation months ago but I still want to create a few pages from this huge family vacation for our 2013 family album. Here and there, as the mood strikes me, I create a page. This afternoon the mood struck and I created this quick page from our visit to the Berchtesgaden Alps. I got so many fabulous pictures that day, it was really difficult to cut it down to just a few! I had to keep reminding myself that I've got the vacation album for all the real details of the trip.

This page was fun (and quick) to put together. I just how playful all of Just Jaimee's kits are!

Celebrating a birthday with friends

You can't beat a simple grid format when you've got a bunch of photos you want to include on a page and I seem to be loving using pockets on my pages these last few days for some reason. They're fun!

I thought the Rumpus kit by Creashens at Pixels & Co. was perfect for this page!

Traveling to London

This is kind of a different kind of page for me. Lots of blending and textures, etc. I had a lot of fun creating this page tonight!

FYI, these are photos my husband took when he was in London for a business trip this fall. I may not have been able to be there ... but it was fun to see the photos he took!

I used lots and lots of goodies to create this page:

GiggleBox by Shabby Princess (cream paper)
Home for the Holidays by Julia Makotinsky (tan paper)
Vintage Floral Overlays by Jodie Lee (overlay)
Going Places by Ardent Sparrow (compass brush)
Going Places by One Little Bird (journaling card)

Like it or not it's time for Braces

This is one of those pages that I've been meaning to scrap for months but I just haven't gotten around to. I guess I haven't been inspired. I think maybe it's because these are the only pictures I have from when my daughter got her braces and I had an image in my mind what kind of page I wanted to scrap. I guess I wanted to do kind of the same page as I scrapped when my son got braces. I just didn't have the same kinds of quality photos. I finally decided what the heck, I've just got to scrap it with what I've got, right?

FYI, here's the page I did when my son got his braces years ago. I always pictured I'd have a full page photo for her too, but I just didn't have a photo like that. I like both pages, actually. They're just obviously completely different.

OMG! My son looks so young! These photos were taken 4+ years ago. A lot changes in a kid's life in 4 years!

Everyday Family Moments

I want to remember the everyday family moments.

I used One Little Bird's "Click" kit for this page (along with Karla Dudley's Protector Pockets). I seem to go back and use the Click kit all the time. I love it!

Digi Project Life | Week 44 (Happy Halloween!)

These pages were really fun to put together this morning. I really REALLY love Splendid Finns' October kit. I think these pages just might be some of my favorite Project Life pages so far this year!

Love this Pup!

I wasn't able to participate in the speed scrap at Pixels & Co. today, but I when I perused the gallery I saw so many great layouts and I loved the design so I decided to play along after the fact. What a quick page to create (30 or 45 minutes maybe?!) and I totally love it!

Love Volleyball | Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day (DSD)!

Happy Digital Scrapping Day everyone! The hubby and kids ran out for a bit this afternoon to get a haircut. I decided that since I did some cleaning in the house this morning that the best use of my time would be to scrap a quick page in honor of DSD! I used a bunch of cute digi goodness from Robyn Meierotto at Pixels and Co. to create this page!

Happy Saturday everyone.

Digi Project Life | Week 42

Hi all! I'm starting to try and do some catchup on my project pages since I'm back from vacation. It's fun to do some scrapping again! These are the pages from before I left for my trip and the start of my mother/daughter trip. I used Mye De Leon's beautiful Documented kit for these pages:

Now I'm figuring out how to address my vacation photos. I think I'll do it the way I did our family's summer vacation. I think I'm going to do a 12x12 page for each day of the trip. I'm hoping to start those pages soon. I'm waiting to get my sister's electronic photos before I start so I can choose from all the photos we took. I'm anxious to start though so I may just start those pages with just my photos. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Now my thought is ... how do the couple of photos my family took when I was gone? I'd like to make a page for their week as well but I don't know that they've got much I can use to document their week. Plus, I wasn't here so I don't have that many details of the week. Curious, if anyone wants to give me their thoughts, how would you go about documenting a week when you weren't there to participate in the week?
